It’s no secret: Google AdWords provides advertisers a wealth of data. More data than most advertisers want, or know what to do with. Finding what you need to know can be a bit challenging at times. 1. Days of the week
Where you can find this data: Dimensions tab > View: Time > Day of the week
This data answers questions such as:
- Should I advertise on weekends?
- Which is my busiest day of the week for online sales?
- When should I launch a new weekly offer?
2. Time of day
Where you can find this data: Dimensions tab > View: Time > Hour of day
This data answers questions such as:
- Should I only advertise during office hours?
- Do my customers make a purchase before or after 6pm?
- Should I show advertisements 24 hours a day?
3. User locations
Where you can find this data: Dimensions tab > View: User locations
This data answers questions such as:
- What cities do I actually get clicks from?
- Are consumers in big cities more likely to buy my products?
- Should I create specific campaigns for users in …?
4. Device breakdown
Where you can find this data: Settings tab > Devices
This data answers questions such as:
- Do mobile users actually turn into leads?
- How much is the average CPA for desktop versus handheld devices?
- What should my mobile bid be?
5. Paid and organic
Where you can find this data: Dimensions tab > View: Paid and organic
This data answers questions such as:
- Should I bid on my own brand name?
- If my website already ranks on the first page organically, should I still pay for ads?
6. Call details
Where you can find this data: Dimensions tab > View: Call details
This data answers questions such as:
- Do my ad campaigns drive phone calls?
- How many calls originated from AdWords?
- What percentage of conversions happen on the phone?
7. Audience demographics
Where you can find this data: Display Network tab > Demographics
This data answers questions such as:
- Who’s seeing my display ads?
- What age / gender are my typical customers?
- Should my ads appeal specifically to parents?
